"Brush" is a mixed media composition that elevates an ordinary object into a singular focal point. A blackened brush is centered against a lime washed surface, taking away its ordinary use and taking it into another context. The contrast between the brush and background creates a quiet tension between utility and presence. The piece invites the viewer to reconsider an everyday use object as something contemplative.
